About the Role

Capable Labs is seeking ambitious, high-integrity individuals for a night-shift lab role in San Francisco. Responsibilities

  • Work overnight hours, operating independently during quieter lab periods.
  • Assist with running mouse studies to evaluate potential new therapies for safety and effectiveness.
  • Dose mice using various methods (IP, IV, SC, PO, intranasal) following study guidelines.
  • Collect samples, including blood and various tissues.
  • Support the team during surgeries and special in vivo procedures.
  • Perform EEG surgeries in mice and support EEG studies.
  • Provide clean, well-documented work handoffs to the day team.

Requirements

  • Experience working with laboratory animals in biotech, pharma, academia, or a related environment.
  • Comfort performing basic animal husbandry and dosing mice using common routes (IP, IV).
  • Attentiveness to routine vivarium duties, including cage cleaning, bedding changes, restocking supplies, and monitoring animal health.
  • Diligence in maintaining a clean, organized, and well-functioning vivarium environment.
  • Ability to work efficiently and reliably with careful attention to detail.
  • Comfort making documented judgment calls when immediate supervision is unavailable.
  • Ability to coordinate cleanly with day shift team members and provide effective handoffs.
