About the Role
This role involves proposal-based sales of 3M's interior and exterior building products to key accounts, including clients, architectural firms, general contractors, and interior companies. You will drive project adoption and specification, achieve sales targets, and manage project progress. The position offers the opportunity to work on significant projects, contribute to the creation of spaces, and develop strong proposal and problem-solving skills. You will collaborate with various internal departments and have the chance to see your contributions visibly shape the urban landscape.
Responsibilities
- Drive specification (Spec-in) activities for key accounts.
- Propose 3M's interior and exterior building products to clients, architectural firms, general contractors, and interior companies to promote project adoption.
- Achieve sales targets and manage progress for assigned distributors and projects.
- Plan and execute growth programs, including exhibitions, product presentations, and webinars, to expand customer touchpoints and generate new business.
- Understand customer needs and propose solutions by combining optimal products, designs, and construction methods.
- Identify demand information for major projects and coordinate delivery schedules.
- Develop new customers and follow up with existing ones to expand business.
- Support new product market introduction and sales expansion in collaboration with sales, marketing, technical, and design departments.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher, any major.
- 3+ years of practical experience in sales or marketing.
- Business-level Japanese proficiency (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
- Experience in sales or marketing.
- Experience in the architecture/building materials or signage industry is preferred.
- Business-level English proficiency is preferred.
- Experience communicating in a multicultural environment is preferred.
- Valid driver's license is preferred.
- Ability to deeply understand customer issues and connect them to optimal proposals.
- Ability to proactively drive projects by engaging internal and external stakeholders.
- Interest in architecture, interior design, space design, and manufacturing.
- Proactive in finding new market opportunities without being bound by existing methods.
- Desire to enhance expertise as a salesperson and take on larger clients and projects.
