About the Role

Endeavour Group Business Services is seeking a dynamic Accounting Manager - Capital to lead the day-to-day operations and deliverables of our capital accounting team. This high-visibility role manages an annual capital investment portfolio of ~$500m and provides strategic direction and oversight to an offshore capital accounting team while championing a continuous improvement and transformation agenda.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the application of IAS 16 and other relevant accounting standards to guarantee precise classification, recognition, and measurement of property, plant, and equipment.
  • Act as the organizational expert on our Group Capitalisation Policy, providing definitive guidance on capital expenditure (CapEx) versus operating expense (OpEx) distinctions.
  • Oversee the accuracy of depreciation and amortization schedules (including tax), manage the end-to-end process for asset disposals, write-offs, and impairment testing, and ensure the Fixed Asset Register (FAR) reflects physical reality.
  • Coach and upskill our offshore team to build both their technical capabilities and their Endeavour business acumen.
  • Own the month-end close process for capital accounting, ensuring all journals, reconciliations, and reporting packages are completed to an elite standard.
  • Perform complex reconciliations between the General Ledger, Tax Ledger, and the FAR, proactively resolving variances.
  • Lead the coordination of internal and external audit requirements for fixed assets, maintaining a robust internal control environment (SOX or local equivalent compliance).
  • Act as the primary finance partner to the Capital, Property, and Formats teams, providing financial clarity on project spend.
  • Deliver transparency on Work-in-Progress (WIP) aging and capital project status, flagging risks regarding budget overruns or delays in "ready for use" dates.
  • Support compelling business cases for new capital investments by analyzing historical data and providing technical accounting impact assessments.

Requirements

  • 7+ years experience within Finance, Shared Services, or Global Business Services.
  • At least 3 years specifically dedicated to overseeing a capital accounting function.
  • Proven experience working with major ERP systems, specifically SAP S/4 HANA, Great Plains, and/or Dynamics 365.
  • Highly desirable experience managing offshore or outsourced shared service delivery models with a history of driving high business satisfaction.
  • An ability to achieve operational excellence and continuous improvement through corporate governance and influence rather than direct mandate.
  • Advanced, current knowledge of fixed asset standards and framework compliance.
  • A commitment to maintaining risk mitigation processes and delegated authority limits.
  • Highly skilled in auditing complex capital data sets to catch anomalies or potential misstatements early.
