About the Role
As Senior Research Integrity Officer (Senior Case Manager), you will implement the University’s commitment to maintaining the highest standards of research integrity. Your role involves gathering and evaluating facts to assess serious complaints, preparing reports, and promoting the responsible conduct of research.
Responsibilities
- Managing sensitive and confidential matters with tact, sensitivity, and respect
- Contributing to UNSW’s policies and procedures to support research integrity
- Identifying specific or broader organisational issues which may warrant action
- Providing research-led advice and leadership in programs and initiatives to promote ethical decision making at UNSW
Requirements
- Competent complaint handler with an investigations/legal background, or an experienced academic researcher, Research Fellow or Early Career Researcher
- Advanced case management experience in complex misconduct/complaints investigations or academic research skills
- Certificate IV in Government Investigations or willingness to obtain
- Ability to gather and assess information effectively, maintain accurate and contemporaneous notes, and engage with individuals in a fair and respectful manner
- Proven ability to work in a high-volume, process driven administrative environment with multiple deadlines requiring developed organisational skills to prioritise, meet deadlines, work accurately, engage multiple stakeholders and keep accurate and contemporaneous records
- High emotional intelligence and judgement, alongside demonstrated capacity to manage confidential and contentious matters with care, fairness, and integrity
- Developed organisational skills to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Proven ability to exercise initiative, think conceptually, and creatively solve problems
- Proven analytical skills with an ability to apply regulatory and professional principles, policy and guidelines
- Valid Australian working rights are required on application
- Candidates may be required to undergo pre-employment screening, which may include reference checks, qualification verification, right-to-work verification, and criminal history screening where relevant to the role
