About the Role

The DevOps Software Engineer role is to simplify the deployment and management of the Cloud Services infrastructure through automation, standardization, integration, reporting, compliance checking, and remediation. The role involves designing, developing, testing, and implementing micro-services, applications, and automation workflows. It also includes reporting and automating the remediation of non-compliance between infrastructure and billing systems, and evaluating new technologies to support business needs. The engineer will build automation, ETL, and APIs, including AI-enabled workflows and prompt engineering frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Design, development, testing, and implementation of micro-services and applications, including database management.
  • Design, development, testing, and implementation of automation workflows to provision, change, and de-provision infrastructure elements.
  • Report, manage, and automate the remediation of non-compliance between infrastructure under management and billing systems.
  • Evaluate and champion new technology to support underlying business needs and initiatives.
  • Integration, management, and support of software and infrastructure management systems leveraging open-source frameworks, latest tech, experimentation, and learning.
  • Build automation, ETL, and APIs to support business and customer outcomes.
  • Design, development, and integration of AI-enabled workflows, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers, prompt engineering frameworks, and AI-assisted operational tooling.

Requirements

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in relevant technical roles in application development and software automation.
  • Bachelor's degree qualified in Software Engineering or similar.
  • Software engineer with experience across a broad range of technologies with exposure to network and/or system administration.
  • Demonstrable ability to evaluate emerging technologies (including AI-driven platforms) and translate them into practical, production-grade engineering solutions.
  • Experience with ITIL or ITIL Certified.
  • Professional exposure to Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery processes and pipelines.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team on both large and small projects.
  • Strong documentation skills with the ability to write clear technical instructions.
  • Strong analytical skills to solve complex problems efficiently.
