About the Role
Presbyterian is hiring a skilled Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care to an assigned group of patients in an Outpatient Clinic. Responsibilities include preparing the patient for the visit, maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting the provider with treatments and procedures, medication administration, and supporting clerical functions.
Responsibilities
- Performing medical assistant procedures under the supervision of a provider and PHS policy.
- Preparing patients for rooming and examination.
- Administering medications and immunizations.
- Performing suture/staple removal and dressing changes.
- Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens.
- Providing basic patient education.
- Setting up aseptic and sterile procedures.
- Performing other duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Six months of MA experience or successful completion of a Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant program from an accredited school required.
- Successful completion of Presbyterian MA Advanced Skills Training within 90 days of hire.
- BLS (AHA, Red Cross or ASHI Healthcare Provider) required.
- Maintains current certifications in required emergency response training (i.e. BLS).
