About the Role
Provide Occupational Therapy services to hospital inpatients, including assessments of functional ability, planning treatment interventions, patient education, and documentation.
Responsibilities
- Provide Occupational Therapy service to hospital inpatients.
- Carry out assessment of patient’s functional ability (i.e. self-care, functional mobility, transfers, home management) considering patient’s physical, cognitive and social situation, and plan appropriate treatment interventions.
- Provide patient education and intervention regarding safety and independence at home, functional precautions and correct use of equipment.
- Document all occupational therapy interventions in the patient’s medical record.
- Maintain accurate patient statistics.
- Participate in Multidisciplinary Team Quality Improvement Programs.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- Post-graduate private or public hospital experience at least one year.
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Current Drivers Licence.
- Weekend availability a must.
- Evidence of the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have an Australia visa that grants the work rights necessary for the role.
