About the Role
UGL is seeking Expressions of Interest from Cost Engineers to expand their experience in bulk storage, fuels, refining, and terminal infrastructure sectors. This role offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of fuel terminals, storage facilities, refining infrastructure, and capital projects, working alongside industry experts to deliver solutions for critical Australian assets.
Responsibilities
- Monitor project cost and schedule performance against approved baselines, identifying variances, trends and risks.
- Ensure accurate allocation of project costs across Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) elements.
- Collect, verify and analyse site execution data, including labour, materials and contractor costs.
- Develop and maintain detailed project cost forecasts, incorporating actual costs, commitments, productivity trends and anticipated project outcomes.
- Prepare, consolidate and analyse project cost data for reports and reviews.
- Support project controls and governance processes through cost reporting, change management, earned value analysis and cost-saving identification.
Requirements
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Controls, Commerce, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in Cost Engineering within engineering consultancies, EPC/EPCM contractors, or major industrial project environments.
- Exposure to fuel terminals, oil & gas, energy, or bulk storage projects is highly regarded.
- Advanced Excel skills with proven capability in analysing large datasets, developing cost models and forecasts, and producing high-quality project reports.
- Working knowledge of project and enterprise systems such as SAP, Primavera P6 and other project controls platforms.
- Ability to integrate cost and schedule data for accurate performance reporting.
- Proven ability to manage cost control activities across multiple concurrent work fronts within complex industrial, brownfield or operational environments.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
