About the Role

As part of our team, you will significantly contribute to the further development of Huacaya and design innovative AI-based applications within projects. You will work directly at the interface with customers and actively drive the further development of Huacaya, our platform for AI development and deployment, with the goal of quickly bringing solutions into productive use.

Responsibilities

• Focus on training, finetuning, and production-near deployment of large language models (LLMs), always with a view to concrete customer benefit.
• Develop and iteratively optimize specialized AI models (e.g., in computer vision, NLP, or numerical data analysis) based on real requirements and feedback from use.
• Take responsibility for the integration and further development of backend systems, including APIs, services, and scalable data pipelines.
• Create custom, scalable solutions for various industries based on Huacaya, accompanying them from idea to productive use.
• Analyze, structure, and curate data to build high-quality training and evaluation datasets and continuously increase model performance.
• Collaborate with customers and interdisciplinary teams to develop requirements, translate them into technical concepts, and act as the central point of contact for implementation.
• Create transparency and support well-founded technical decisions through clear documentation and presentations tailored to the audience.

Requirements

• Completed degree in (Applied) Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a comparable quantitative field.
• Very good German and English language skills enable you to communicate even complex technical content understandably and target-group-specifically. Very good German language skills (native language) or at least C1 level (GER) and good English skills are required.
• Initial practical experience in the development or deployment of AI systems, e.g., from projects, internships, or professional roles.
• Proficiency in training and finetuning LLMs and in handling frameworks such as Hugging Face Transformers, PyTorch, or TensorFlow.
• Knowledge in backend development, e.g., with FastAPI, Django, or Flask, enables you to develop production-near applications.
• Familiarity with modern infrastructure and deployment tools such as Docker and Kubernetes, as well as with SQL/NoSQL databases and version control, complements your profile.
• An independent, structured, and pragmatic way of working characterizes you, as well as the ability to take responsibility and drive solutions forward even under uncertain framework conditions.
