About the Role

Build technology that helps investors achieve their financial goals. This role involves building and enhancing software solutions that support investment professionals, portfolio managers, operations teams, and investors, offering a unique opportunity to combine modern software engineering with deep exposure to finance, investments, and funds management.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy modern web applications and APIs.
  • Build scalable software solutions supporting investment management, portfolio operations, reporting, and business workflows.
  • Develop high-quality backend services and data-driven applications using modern engineering practices.
  • Create intuitive user experiences using contemporary frontend technologies.
  • Design, write, and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions.
  • Integrate applications across internal and external systems through APIs and data services.
  • Contribute to cloud-based solutions and platform modernization initiatives.
  • Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
  • Collaborate closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and fellow engineers to deliver impactful outcomes.
  • Continuously improve application performance, security, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Explore and leverage modern automation and AI-assisted development practices where appropriate.

Requirements

  • Strong software development experience in languages such as C#/.NET, Java, or similar enterprise technologies.
  • Experience building modern web applications and APIs.
  • Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries, database design concepts, performance tuning, and working with relational databases.
  • Experience working with modern frontend frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.
  • Understanding of software design principles, testing practices, and clean code techniques.
  • Experience working with source control systems such as Git.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within an Agile delivery environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 3 years' professional software development experience.
  • Must be an Australian or NZ citizen or permanent resident.
  • Willingness to disclose and potentially liquidate personal investments to comply with Code of Ethics requirements.
  • Willingness to move holdings to an approved broker if required by department and location.
