About the Role

The Holocaust Educational Trust (HET) is seeking a Research and Production Officer to join their team in Central London. This role is crucial for the development, post-production, testing, and maintenance of Testimony 360, an innovative digital program for UK secondary schools that uses interactive survivor testimony and virtual reality to teach about the Holocaust. The successful candidate will ensure the fluency, usability, and ethical representation of testimonies, contributing to new content and digital resources.

Responsibilities

Develop interactive testimony, including capture, clipping, annotation, data/metadata input, and Alpha/Beta testing.
Lead the AI training process for testimony accuracy and ensure respectful, ethical representation of survivors' life stories.
Maintain regular contact with USC Shoah Foundation, providing updates and engaging in shared learning and training.
Support colleagues with post-production tasks and training.
Log activity and decisions regarding the post-production editing process.
Organize and deliver Alpha and Beta testing stages, working directly with students online and in-person.
Develop and manage systems for the maintenance, accuracy, ethics, and security of interactive testimonies.
Plan and deliver online Beta testing sessions for interactive testimonies.
Collaborate with the Data and Evaluation Manager on research and evaluation partnerships to assess the impact of Testimony 360.
Willingness to participate in classroom programs as an educator from time to time.
Carry out research and development relating to the Trust’s digital strategy.
Work with external providers to create historically accurate content aligned with the Trust’s pedagogical approach.
Contribute to discussions about learnings from Testimony 360 and their application to the wider educational offer.
Ensure education about the Holocaust is central to all work.
Support wider teams in developing, planning, and delivering public engagement, fundraising, and awareness-raising initiatives.

Requirements

An understanding of the history of the Holocaust and its relevance today, evidenced through previous study or work history.
An understanding of Holocaust survivor testimony, its value in education, and best practice/ethical considerations for producing, using, and maintaining recorded testimonies.
Specialized IT competency in data management systems for interactive testimonies (e.g., Digital Repository Management System, Dimensions in Testimony Editor).
General understanding of the benefits and risks of using AI technology for testimony.
Ability to work quickly in a fast-paced environment under tight timeframes with high accuracy.
Ability to work independently with demonstrable self-motivation.
Strong communication skills, effective for cross-team and cross-organizational collaboration.
Vibrant, enthusiastic, and dependable individual with a clear passion and commitment to the aims and values of the Holocaust Educational Trust.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Demonstrable interest in and understanding of evolving digital technologies and experiences, especially in education.
