About the Role
Cerchione Hurowitz Law Group LLP, a leading New York City personal injury litigation firm, is seeking an experienced litigation attorney for its Law Department. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years of experience in New York motion practice.
Responsibilities
- Draft dispositive and other substantive motions and opposition papers and prepare/edit other legal documents
- Handle oral arguments
- Effectively communicate with clients, adversaries, judges and court personnel
- Manage an active caseload
- Oversee the work of paralegals and legal assistants
Requirements
- 3+ years’ experience in a New York law firm handling substantive motion
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong legal research skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and case management skills
- Ability to work under pressure, expeditiously and accurately
- Knowledge of all New York City courts, including their procedures and requirements
- Admission to practice in New York State
- Thorough knowledge of CPLR, New York motion practice and court operations in all metropolitan New York counties
