About the Role
Data Science at DoorDash involves diving deeper into our data to solve crucial business problems, ideate & run experiments to solve for insights gleaned from this deep dive and work with a cross-functional team to drive real-world operational change. This role offers a rare operational and actionable data-driven experience, solving challenges in customer acquisition, growth, fraud, support, marketing, marketplace efficiency, and more. We are looking for individuals who enjoy finding patterns amidst chaos, turning them into explainable, actionable insights, and have experience using analytics to affect revenue, growth, or operations.
Responsibilities
- Act as a thought partner to product, business, finance, and executive teams to inform strategic decisions.
- Utilize quantitative analysis and data presentation to understand business drivers.
- Build full-cycle analytics experiments, reports, and dashboards using SQL, Python, R, or other scripting and statistical tools.
- Identify and measure key metrics, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Apply statistical techniques, hypothesis testing, and experimentation to validate findings.
- Provide insights to cross-functional teams regarding marketplace dynamics, user behaviors, and long-term trends.
- Collaborate effectively with strategy, operations, product, finance, and engineering teams, managing competing priorities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in data analytics, consulting, or a related quantitative role.
- Ability to solve ambiguous problems using a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported approach.
- Experience leading strategic projects to completion with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with experimentation techniques (A/B testing, Causal Inference) and hypothesis testing.
- Proficiency in SQL queries, basic ETL, and regression techniques.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language, preferably Python or R.
- Proficiency in one or more analytics & visualization tools.
