About the Role
Itty Bitty Adventures LLC is looking for a passionate and nurturing Preschool Assistant Teacher to join our team in Brooklyn, NY. In this role, you'll help create a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment where little ones can grow, explore, and thrive.
Responsibilities
- Support the lead teacher in delivering age-appropriate lessons and activities for preschool-aged children
- Supervise and engage children during classroom activities, outdoor play, and transitions
- Foster a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
- Assist with the implementation of early childhood curriculum and developmental activities
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding child progress and daily updates
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom setting
- Support children's social-emotional development and positive behavior management
Requirements
- Previous experience working with preschool or early childhood-aged children preferred
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices
- Warm, patient, and enthusiastic demeanor with a genuine love for working with young children
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) a plus
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to meet NYC childcare regulatory and background check requirements
