About the Role

Red Earth Engineering has an exciting opportunity for a Hydrogeologist to join our Water Resources Team. We seek motivated professionals to support our strong and growing project pipeline. At Red Earth Engineering, you will have the opportunity to apply your academic and professional knowledge to the real world and Tier 1 energy and resource clients.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a central point of contact for the Perth Office
  • Lead, Manage and deliver hydrogeological projects
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality and strategically thought-out proposals, tenders, RFQs, scopes of work etc
  • Be a key leader in the development of Perth Groundwater practice group and consulting services
  • Conceptual assessment of groundwater flow, fate and transport
  • Quantitative groundwater assessments of flow, fate and transport using analytical as well as 2D and 3D numerical modelling tools – SEEPW, HYDRUS, MODFLOW, GoldSim
  • Lead the development of innovative solutions for complex groundwater problems that the WA market is facing or could arise in the future
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals
  • On-the-job training, professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring
  • Further training to enhance skills on specialist software will also be provided e.g. Leapfrog, SEEPW, GIS, MODFLOW, etc

Requirements

  • 8+ years of consulting experience
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Demonstrated success in teamwork
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting deadlines and budgets, and traveling to client facilities as needed
  • Post graduate MSc or similar in hydrogeology
  • Strong GIS skills - ArcGIS, QGIS, or Surfer
  • Strong data handling and manipulation skills, and data analysis
  • Experience assisting with groundwater assessments and site conceptual model development
  • Fieldwork experience – drilling supervision, logging, testing, sampling, monitoring
  • Experience with Leapfrog, or other 3D volumetric modelling software
  • Experience with 2D and/or 3D numerical flow models
