About the Role

Amerit Fleet Solutions is hiring a skilled Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our team in Long Island City, NY. This role offers an opportunity to grow your career with a stable national company by troubleshooting mechanical issues and keeping fleet vehicles running reliably.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on medium to heavy-duty fleet vehicles
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
• Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety and compliance standards
• Accurately document repairs and complete work orders
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, including your tools and equipment
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies
• Collaborate with supervisors and team members to support fleet operations

Requirements

• 5+ years of hands-on experience performing expert repairs with AC and Electrical Diagnostics
• Experience with Paccar, Cummins, Peterbilt, Fords, CAT F650, and Ford E350's
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to own and maintain the personal tools and toolbox required for the role
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Willingness and ability to meet the physical demands of the position
• Ability to successfully pass a DOT physical if required for the role
