About the Role

Lead a high performing team of talented professionals who are passionate about shaping and delivering innovative Investment Management (IM) solutions for Australia's leading investment managers and superannuation funds. As a Director, you will be a senior leader within our Investment Management Technology practice, trusted by clients to shape and deliver their most complex and strategically significant initiatives. You will act as a trusted advisor to C-suite and executive stakeholders across investment managers, superannuation funds, custodians and service providers, helping them navigate transformation across the investment management lifecycle.

Responsibilities

  • Lead large-scale, complex client engagements spanning IM technology, strategy, target operating model design, platform selection and implementation, investment data management, and sourcing of custodians and service providers.
  • Own and grow senior client relationships, acting as the engagement leader accountable for quality, commercial outcomes and client satisfaction.
  • Drive the growth of the practice by originating, shaping and converting a personal pipeline of opportunities, leading proposals and bids, taking shared accountability of practice revenue targets, and converting relationships into sustained, multi-year client partnerships.
  • Take accountability for engagement economics, including budgeting, billing and profitability, while managing delivery risk for both the client and Deloitte.
  • Build, lead and develop high performing teams – recruiting outstanding people, coaching Associate Directors, Managers and Consultants, and creating the conditions for them to do their best work.
  • Shape the strategic direction of the practice, including developing market propositions, thought leadership and innovative technology and data solutions for the investment management industry.
  • Represent Deloitte in the market through industry forums, client events and publications, consolidating your standing as a recognised leader in investment management technology and operations.

Requirements

  • Typically 15+ years of experience across investment management, superannuation, custody and/or consulting, with deep knowledge of the front, middle and back office and the operational, governance and system requirements that support all asset classes, products and client types.
  • A proven track record leading complex engagements covering target operating model design, sourcing and selection of custodians, platforms and systems, and large-scale implementations.
  • Demonstrated success in business development, from originating, shaping and winning work, growing accounts, and building a personal network of senior industry relationships.
  • Deep understanding of investment data and the technology landscape supporting investment managers and asset owners, including order management, portfolio management, performance, risk and data platforms.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including engagement financial management and risk management for large programs.
  • Outstanding leadership and people development skills, with a genuine commitment to coaching and growing diverse, high performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills at executive and board level.
  • A track record of contributing to practice growth through propositions, thought leadership, recruitment and team capability building.
  • The preferred candidate will be subject to background screening by Deloitte or by their external third-party provider.
