About the Role
The NSW Police Band (a Wind Orchestra) is seeking a Band Member (Clarinet) to engage with the community and promote the NSW Police Force through musical performance. This role offers a 'Doubling' allowance for playing a second instrument as required. The position is currently a 4-month contract ending November 14, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Perform as a musician in the NSW Police Band and its various ensembles.
- Contribute to the positive promotion of the NSWPFF through community engagement.
- Perform in a variety of settings, including outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.
- Stand and march for prolonged periods in various weather conditions.
- Work collaboratively within a large and diverse musical team.
- Adapt additional skills to contribute to the ongoing success of the band (e.g., arranging, composing, recording/sound skills).
Requirements
- Must have the capacity to meet key challenges of the role, including performing in diverse settings and weather conditions, and working collaboratively.
- Must be an Australian Citizen, a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen.
- Must undergo a rigorous National Police (criminal history) Check prior to commencement.
- Must obtain and maintain a Security Clearance as determined by the NSW Police Force.
