About the Role
The Center for Disability Services is seeking Weekend Warrior Resident Counselors (Float) to support its Residential Programs. This role assists individuals in daily treatment, care, and services, promoting independence and community inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation of staff action plans and complete associated documentation.
- Promote independence, community inclusion, individualization, and productivity.
- Respect personal choice, lifestyles, and dignity while allowing informed risks.
- Be flexible to work at any residential location based on program and staffing needs.
Requirements
- Travel to programs in the Capital Region area is required.
- Must obtain specialized training within 90 days of employment: First Aid, CPR, SCIP-R, OPWDD Medication Administration Certification, and CFDS Authorized Driver.
- Complete additional program-specific training requirements during the first six months of employment.
- Maintain certifications continuously.
- Possess a NYS Driver's License.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of job-related experience preferred, specifically working with individuals with developmental disabilities or in nursing home/home care settings.
