About the Role

This role sits within the Governance, Legal and Procurement Department and the Governance Team, reporting to the Head of Governance. You will provide governance support and assist the Head of Governance on complex and routine governance matters.

Responsibilities

  • Researching and developing policy on corporate governance
  • Providing independent probity reviews of procurement processes
  • Managing, directing, and handling a diverse and complex range of complaints management activities
  • Determining applications for the release of documents under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (GIPA)

Requirements

  • Experienced in communicating, consulting and liaising effectively with a range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience in drafting reports, policies and correspondence
  • Interpreting and applying legislation across a broad range of governance matters
  • Demonstrated experience in governance, with experience in at least two (2) of the following areas: Policy development, implementation and monitoring; GIPA and/or Privacy; Statutory Compliance and/or Probity; Investigations and Complaints Handling
  • Current Class C Driver's Licence
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety practices
  • Knowledge of the principles of Equal Employment Opportunity
  • Knowledge of ethical practice
  • Knowledge of multi-cultural diversity
  • Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • Required to obtain a National Police Check
  • May be required to undergo a pre-employment medical check
