About the Role

Convene Hospitality Group (CHG) is seeking a passionate Bar Operations Supervisor to support beverage operations at The Mallory, a premier event destination, and the larger CHG organization. This hands-on role involves overseeing beverage programs, managing bar staff, ensuring premium guest experiences, and balancing administrative tasks with active event support in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Responsibilities

  • Train, execute, and provide feedback on seasonal beverage menus, including cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic offerings.
  • Facilitate execution of best practices in service standards, glassware, bar equipment, and garnishment techniques for consistency.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of beverage trends, products, and industry best practices.
  • Ensure consistent beverage preparation, presentation, and quality.
  • Participate in client site tours and facilitate Amenity Lounge and S&D programs.
  • Support the purchasing of beverage products, bar equipment, and supplies.
  • Track inventory, usage, and implement systems to minimize waste and control costs.
  • Perform hard-counts of product and equipment and prepare cost-analysis reports.
  • Receive and properly store deliveries, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Advise and maintain appropriate staffing levels.
  • Execute day-of services in alignment with event documents.
  • Ensure specialty product requests and services are executed to meet or exceed expectations.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all custom beverage-related inquiries during event setup and execution.
  • Adapt and lead others through service changes and pivots.
  • Ensure proper opening and closing of the venue, following all procedures and best practices.
  • Oversee bar setup, breakdown, and service execution for events.
  • Train and develop members of the CHG Event Bar Staff, providing feedback and escalating issues as needed.
  • Support the training of bartenders on recipes, service standards, and responsible alcohol service.
  • Ensure compliance with all alcohol service laws, health codes, and venue policies.
  • Provide hands-on support for amenity spaces, services, room setups, and general operations.
  • Log all incidents, accidents, and critical feedback for investigation and resolution.
  • Display a positive attitude towards change and motivate others to adapt.

Requirements

  • 2+ years in bar operations, lead bartending, or beverage coordination, ideally within an event-driven or high-volume hospitality environment.
  • Strong knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and cocktail techniques.
  • Experience with advanced cocktail production.
  • Experience with inventory oversight inclusive of requisitions, consumption identification, and monthly inventory counting.
  • A service-first approach with the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced, high-end event environment.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed to support events.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs., stand/walk for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks.
