About the Role

The Food & Beverage Manager is responsible for running the operations of select Premium Clubs, Group Spaces and Restaurant Outlets at Rogers Centre during live events. The role supports the Premium Director in delivering consistent, high-quality guest service, managing labour and inventory performance, and maintaining compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Manage pre-event preparation for assigned areas, delegating work and ensuring outlets are ready for service.
  • Provide supervision during events, managing service delivery and proactively addressing operational issues.
  • Promote effective front-of-house and back-of-house teamwork and communication.
  • Oversee event setup and breakdown, including staff execution, inventory movements, and equipment checks.
  • Create, implement, and monitor service and sales incentives to motivate staff.
  • Maximize the effective use of labour and equipment by strategically deploying staff.
  • Ensure accurate completion and submission of electronic payment and event documentation.
  • Complete and oversee inventory audits and recounts, managing inventory levels and controlling costs.
  • Ensure employee break and meal periods are scheduled in accordance with the collective agreement and Employment Standards Act.
  • Ensure all staff are well-trained in service standards, safety, food handling, responsible alcohol service, and company policies.
  • Ensure staff follow company policies and procedures, completing duties accurately and providing excellent guest service.
  • Promote good employee relations and engage in effective labour relations practices.
  • Perform staff management tasks including recruitment, hiring recommendations, performance feedback, coaching, and corrective action.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, guidelines, and regulatory standards.
  • Oversee responsible alcohol service, ensuring staff follow Smart Serve regulations and company policies.
  • Assist guests with questions, comments, and concerns, resolving issues or escalating as needed.
  • Work with staff and management to generate and implement new ideas for improving food offerings, service, and operational structure.

Requirements

  • 7 years of management experience in a high-volume, fast-paced food and beverage or hospitality environment.
  • 1 year of experience in a unionized environment managing unionized employees.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control systems, cost management, menu development and costing, and basic financial reporting.
  • Working knowledge of inventory and POS systems used in concessions or quick-service operations.
  • Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of cooking or quick food service operations.
  • Smart Serve certification and minimum legal serving age as required in Ontario.
  • Understanding of responsible alcohol service regulations and best practices.
  • Understanding of safe food handling policies and standards; food handler certification is an asset.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to constantly move about a large facility to perform supervisory responsibilities, inspections, client tours, and meetings.
  • Frequent handling, monitoring, and oversight of clubs equipment use by staff.
  • Frequent assessment of food quality, presentation, and palatability.
  • Ability to constantly identify and respond to hazardous situations and ensure corrective actions are taken.
  • Frequent operation of office machinery and computer systems for scheduling, reporting, and communication.
  • Frequent handling or oversight of movement of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to constantly respond effectively to changing demands from leadership and the client.
