About the Role

Join Petco and make a real difference in the lives of pets and pet parents. We are looking for passionate individuals to provide exceptional care for aquatic life and create an outstanding guest experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all aquatic life receives appropriate care by adhering to operational guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• Complete all aquatic maintenance, assess and address aquatic life health and conditions, and create Companion Animal Incident Reports.
• Complete and apply training programs to maintain a high level of expertise and educate other partners in aquatic care and maintenance.
• Effectively place aquatic life orders and special-order requests to maximize sales and inventory.
• Act as the primary resource for guests and partners regarding aquatic education and care, utilizing the selling model.
• Participate in aquatic life physical inventory counts and collaborate with the CAL to analyze department inventory management data.
• Ensure aquatic life and merchandise are stocked, priced, and displayed to create a great presentation.
• Perform routine housekeeping tasks such as aquarium system maintenance, sweeping/mopping, and dusting.
• Accurately complete required digital paperwork in a timely manner.
• Perform additional duties and projects as required or assigned.
• Utilize selling behaviors to provide an amazing guest experience.
• Contribute to a safe environment by maintaining safety protocols.
• Be a part of a collaborative culture centered around solving pet health and wellness needs.
• Engage in career development through participation in developmental programs.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of experience working with and/or caring for freshwater and marine aquatic life.
• High level of knowledge of aquatic life and an aptitude for sales techniques.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Keen and genuine interest in animals and their care.
• Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to bend, kneel, move merchandise up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods.
• Ability and willingness to maintain a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
