About the Role

Uncertified Competitive Programs Coaches help athletes develop strong skiing fundamentals, improve race performance, and achieve their competitive goals. Coaches create a safe, positive, and engaging training environment while supporting Windham Mountain Club's Culture of Excellence. Previous racing or coaching experience is preferred but not required. Training and professional development opportunities, including PSIA and USSS certification support, may be available.

Responsibilities

  • Coach athletes using modern alpine skiing techniques and training methods
  • Promote on-mountain safety through effective terrain selection and group management
  • Support athlete development, goal setting, and skill progression
  • Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive training environment
  • Assist with training setup, equipment management, and program operations
  • Follow all Windham Mountain Club policies and safety procedures
  • Participate in required training and professional development opportunities

Requirements

  • Must be at least 14 years old
  • Advanced skiing ability required
  • Strong understanding of the Alpine Responsibility Code
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • Previous racing or coaching experience preferred
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying winter conditions
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to safely ski or ride for extended periods
  • Ability to navigate uneven, snow- and ice-covered terrain
  • Ability to push, pull, bend, kneel, and reach regularly
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written formats
