About the Role

The main objective of this role is to support the store management team in achieving a store environment that fosters creativity, employee development, and the VIBE philosophy, while upholding the Urban Outfitters “Peers Training Peers” philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, motivate, develop, and lead a team.
  • Manage performance development within the department team, including appraisals, development plans, coaching, counseling, and disciplinary actions.
  • Recognize and develop talented individuals for advancement within the organization.
  • Uphold Company standards and act as a positive role model.
  • Inspire, motivate, and encourage teamwork.
  • Conduct productive daily meetings to ensure goals are met.
  • Effectively delegate projects while allowing creativity and decision-making.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Oversee customer service by setting daily goals and expectations.
  • Exhibit excellent floor presence by training and coaching the store team on customer service, standards, product placement, and time management.
  • Achieve Company-average mystery shop results by upholding customer service standards.
  • Perform all store-level operational procedures accurately and in a timely fashion.
  • Achieve store stock loss goals by overseeing adherence to loss prevention practices.
  • Assist in upholding Company Health & Safety regulations.
  • Manage assigned department aspects in collaboration with management regarding training, shipment placement, markdowns, transfers, merchandising, and store standards.
  • Understand and interpret current fashion trends to generate creative solutions.
  • Ensure floor sets for the department are well organized and scheduled appropriately.
  • Maximize departmental sales through analytical and creative management of merchandise.
  • Utilize Company reports to react to trends and drive business.
  • Stay abreast of current trends and maintain a sound knowledge of the customer profile.
  • Manage stock levels appropriately considering the store environment, relevant reports, and market trends.
  • Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills to achieve and exceed store targets.

Requirements

  • Experience in a management role within a fast-paced, high-volume fashion retail environment.
  • Demonstrates strong operational skills.
  • An understanding of the Urban Outfitters culture and its appeal to the local market.
  • Ability to drive sales through excellent service, strong visual presentation, and a full understanding of the business.
