About the Role

We are a deeptech startup at the intersection of AI, robotics, and materials science, focused on accelerating energy innovation. Our Berlin-based team seeks a Culture and Community Manager to design and implement our team culture from the ground up. This high-agency role requires building relationships, identifying issues proactively, and fostering a connected and energizing work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute weekly rituals, team socials, monthly activities, celebrations, and quarterly offsites.
  • Enhance all-hands and collective meetings to be more energetic, interactive, and participatory.
  • Build trusted relationships across the company and maintain a pulse on team sentiment, responding proactively to disengagement.
  • Review team updates to identify recurring themes, tone changes, or unmet needs, and implement solutions.
  • Source and engage candidates via LinkedIn, communities, referrals, and other channels, screening for motivation, values, and cultural contribution.
  • Support interview coordination and ensure a positive candidate experience.
  • Manage lightweight people-operations, including onboarding, trackers, follow-ups, and internal documentation.
  • Take ownership of and solve practical, people-facing problems without established playbooks.
  • Coordinate effectively with founders, employees, vendors, and external partners.

Requirements

  • Experience in community management, people operations, employee experience, recruiting, events, hospitality, startup ops, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to design, plan, and execute team events, including logistics, vendor management, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Experience sourcing and screening candidates and coordinating interview processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate values into behaviors and provide practical feedback on team sentiment.
  • Strong organizational skills, including maintaining trackers, documentation, and follow-up systems.
  • High emotional intelligence, with skills in sensitive conversations, rallying participants, and building trust across diverse technical teams.
  • Startup mindset: high agency, low ego, comfort with ambiguity, and willingness to perform varied tasks.
  • Willingness to travel for quarterly offsites and occasional events.
