About the Role

As a 705 Captain, you will transport thousands of passengers each year, prioritizing flight safety, passenger comfort, and on-time performance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct flights with strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures, Canadian Aviation Regulations, Aircraft Flight Manual, and Company Operations Manual.
  • Check weather, NOTAMs, and determine fuel and oil requirements.
  • Calculate airplane weight and balance.
  • Review, amend, and accept the Operational Flight Plan.
  • Complete an airplane pre-flight inspection before each departure.
  • Load, unload, and secure cargo/freight as required.
  • Complete flight watch jointly with the flight dispatcher.
  • Complete all post-flight duties, including company notification of aircraft whereabouts, recording flight times, and noting defects.
  • Continue to meet and exceed Transport Canada Qualification standards for a Pilot.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Experience Level

  • 2000 hour Total Time required
  • Previous airline experience is considered an asset

Education Level

  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
  • Current Group 1 Instrument Rating
  • Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) required with 500 hours on DHC-8 preferred
  • Category 1 Medical
  • Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
