About the Role
Responsible for general team guidance, leadership and performance of a quality team performing a variety of simple to complex operations and inspection procedures involving liquid penetrant inspection (FPI) and Radiography (X-Ray) operations, as well as additional quality inspections and verifications based on business needs. This candidate will also understand all related NDT tasks pertaining to Penetrant Inspection (PT) and Radiographic Inspection (RT).
Responsibilities
- Manage a highly skilled goal-oriented team of approximately 20-30 direct reports across 3 shifts.
- Provide support in a team environment through strong value-based leadership and a proactive safety mindset.
- Collaborate with AA TECH Value Streams and NDT Level 3’s to set priorities to maximize overall business and quality objectives.
- Lead formal problem-solving efforts by employing tools such as 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, PDCA etc.
- Maintain and report on KPI’s and work with Quality Leadership to develop improvement strategies as needed.
- Leverage data to identify and execute improvement opportunities that better serve AA TECH and our customers.
- Support and participate in internal and 3rd party audits (i.e. AS9100, Nadcap, GE, FAA, etc.).
Requirements
- Two or more years of relevant supervisory, quality and/or manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with Nondestructive Test Processes.
- Knowledge of formal problem-solving techniques such as 5-why, PDCA, Fishbone Diagrams, etc.
- Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering drawings, procedures, specifications and instructions.
- Excellent communication across 3 shifts.
- Proficient MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Working knowledge of SAE AS9100 - Quality Management Systems.
- Good knowledge of machining and assembly procedures, as well as welding, heat transfer, and brazing processes.
- Must possess a high level of mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
- Understanding and experience with Aerospace Alloys, welds and brazed joints.
- Must demonstrate good judgment, good interpersonal communication skills and be willing to work effectively as a participative team member.
- Demonstrates effective verbal, written, and the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States and must provide evidence of citizenship or immigration status.
