About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine to moderately complex electro-mechanical technical functions including design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, troubleshooting, and assembly of electronics and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Tests and troubleshoots system-level and component-level problems in electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Performs new system and NPI installations and field upgrades.
  • Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or plans to perform testing and troubleshooting.
  • Compiles logbooks and test procedures documentation.
  • Performs mechanical, electrical, pneumatic & vacuum, and process testing on AMAT platforms.
  • Observes all safety standards and maintains a secure, safe, clean, and healthy work environment.
  • Attends required health and safety training and follows safety and security policies.
  • Becomes familiar with current manufacturing and/or engineering processes and stays informed of any changes.
  • Assists in the correction of problems.
  • Performs rework as a result of testing and generates Quality Notifications.

Requirements

  • This is a physically demanding position requiring standing for extended periods, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting, distinguishing between colors, working in noisy environments, using hand and power tools, and driving or operating heavy machinery.
  • May require the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, gloves, respirators, chemical aprons, and face shields, especially in clean room environments.
  • Has developed analytical skills and application of scientific methods.
  • Has a good understanding of how the team integrates with others.
  • Recognizes and solves typical problems in own work area without supervisory approval.
  • Evaluates and selects solutions from established operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
  • Impacts the quality of own work.
  • Uses communication skills to exchange information.
