About the Role
The Licensed Veterinary Technician at TACC is the core of our practice, responsible for leading and supervising daily clinical duties. This role ensures efficient and timely completion of tasks, facilitates communication between team members, and performs all duties of a licensed veterinary technician. Opportunities exist for training in advanced diagnostics and potentially joining a mobile TACC team.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily clinical duties.
- Ensure accurate, efficient, and timely completion of daily clinical duties.
- Facilitate communication between doctors, practice manager, and clinical team members.
- Perform all duties of a licensed veterinary technician.
- Participate in advanced history taking.
- Participate in advanced imaging, including Echocardiograms.
- Conduct physical examinations and patient assessments.
- Round with the doctor on cases using learned cardiology knowledge.
- Provide consistently compassionate care for patients.
- Train under the Cardiologist and join the mobile TACC team (for interested LVTs).
Requirements
- Licensed in NY State.
- 2+ years of experience as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in GP, Emergency, or Specialty.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong people and organizational skills.
- Ability to resolve conflict.
- Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited college or university.
- Comfortable working with all types of animals.
- Ability to lift 40lbs.
- Capable of moving patients from carrier/floor to exam table.
- Able to stand for extended periods of time.
