About the Role

Healthy Kids Programs is hiring School-Age Childcare Assistants for Before and After School Programs. This role involves facilitating hands-on activities, providing a safe and fun environment, and supporting program operations for children aged 5-12.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate hands-on activities following the Healthy Kids Curriculum (fitness, STEAM, academic, art, group activities, homework completion).
  • Provide a safe, healthy, and fun environment and act as a positive role model for children.
  • Observe state guidelines, Healthy Kids Extended Day Program policies, and host school policies.
  • Support program operations, including attendance records, registration, and staffing.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred.
  • Required health clearance, including TB screening, in accordance with state regulations.
  • Must demonstrate a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and reliability.
  • Physically able to bend, stretch, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds while actively engaging with children.

Location

  • Roaring Brook Elementary School, Grafflin Elementary School, and Westorchard Elementary School in Chappaqua, NY

Work Type

  • Part-time
  • Follows the school calendar
  • Morning Program: 7:30 - 9:00 am
  • Afternoon Program: 2:55 - 5:15 pm
  • Opportunities may be available for morning, afternoon, or both programs.

Experience Level

  • 1 year of experience working with kids under 13 preferred

Education Level

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Salary/Compensations

  • $17.00 per hour
