About the Role

Presbyterian is seeking a dedicated and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Specialty Care team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cardiovascular nursing, a passion for patient care, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality, evidence-based care. New graduates have the opportunity to participate in our mandatory residency program, which includes monthly seminars led by the Nurse Residency Team, peer-to-peer debriefing sessions, support groups/mentoring, and rounding. The Nurse Residency Program is an added benefit designed to support your transition into practice.

Responsibilities

  • Provide advanced nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, including heart failure, arrhythmias, coronary artery disease, and post-surgical care for cardiac procedures.
  • Perform comprehensive assessments of cardiac patients, including monitoring vital signs, heart rhythms, and hemodynamic status.
  • Administer medications, including IV drips, anticoagulants, and cardiac medications, as prescribed by physicians.
  • Monitor patients for changes in condition, respond to emergencies, and implement appropriate interventions.
  • Provide pre- and post-procedural care for patients undergoing cardiac catheterizations, angioplasty, pacemaker insertions, and other cardiac interventions.
  • Educate patients and families on managing cardiac conditions, including lifestyle modifications, medication adherence, and recognizing warning signs.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including cardiologists, dietitians, physical therapists, and case managers, to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License
  • BLS certification REQUIRED at time of hire

  • Minimum Offer $39.69
  • Maximum Offer $58.17
