Responsibilities

  • Own the product vision and strategy for self-service data platform capabilities that enable data mesh at REA.
  • Lead continuous discovery with data producers, consumers, and platform users to deeply understand needs, constraints, and pain points.
  • Identify opportunities to improve usability, scalability, reliability, data quality, data health and adoption of the data platform.
  • Drive the end-to-end delivery of core data mesh enabling capabilities, from discovery through to launch and iteration.
  • Partner closely with data engineers, software engineers, and architects to shape solutions that are technically sound and product-led.
  • Make informed build vs buy recommendations using industry research and internal context.
  • Ensure platform capabilities support key data mesh needs.
  • Own and maintain a clear, outcome-driven product roadmap aligned to REA’s data and AI priorities.
  • Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform scalability and sustainability.
  • Partner with the Head of Data, Data Management, Architecture, and Data Business Partners to ensure platform capabilities align to the federated data operating model.
  • Work closely with product and technology leaders across the business to ensure platform solutions integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
  • Drive successful rollout and adoption of platform capabilities across data domains and with data product owners.
  • Define and track success measures such as usage, adoption, reliability, data quality and health indicators, time-to-value, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Approximately 5+ years’ experience in Product Management or Product Development, with ownership of complex platforms or technical products.
  • Proven experience analysing and synthesise information on the market to determine an appropriate strategic approach whilst taking a whole business perspective, following these strategies through to benefit realisation.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills - able to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions and communicate insights using data and visualisation.
  • Proven experience working closely with technical stakeholders.
  • Experience building or managing platform products, ideally in data, analytics, or developer-focused environments.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, security, and compliance concepts.
  • Strong product discovery skills, with the ability to translate complex user needs into clear product outcomes.
  • Comfortable operating in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Experience building self-service data platforms or data infrastructure products is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to data mesh, data-as-a-product, or federated data models is beneficial.
