About the Role
The Assistant Front Office Manager oversees Front Office operations and acts as the manager on duty. This role is vital to the success of Four Seasons New York Downtown, shaping guest experience through exceptional knowledge and service. The position reports to the Front Office Manager.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Front Office operations and act as manager on duty when senior managers are unavailable.
- Direct staff in welcoming and registering guests, explaining accommodations, establishing credit, checking guests out, and preparing bills.
- Oversee multiple operational departments in the absence of senior management.
- Respond to a wide variety of guest requests by accurately assessing needs and offering personal recommendations.
- Manage the staff of the Front Office (Front Desk, Guest Services, and Concierge).
- Interview, train, schedule, conduct performance evaluations, and discipline staff.
- Coordinate arrivals, departures, and billing requirements with the Sales and Catering Department.
- Block rooms for arrival and resolve discrepancies.
- Review daily arrivals to ensure proper handling of Special Attention Guests, Return Guests, and Groups.
- Monitor and assess revenue opportunities, maximize red date conversion, and ensure the team meets Upsell Goals.
- Drive Key Performance Index scores relating to service.
- Establish training and accountability to achieve high results above benchmarks.
- Ensure all financial and credit procedures are followed.
- Take action in all matters related to the safety, security, satisfaction, and well-being of hotel guests and employees when senior management is not available.
- Respond swiftly and effectively in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
Requirements
- Knowledge of housekeeping.
- Physical mobility including lifting, walking, bending, and moving objects up to 50 lbs.
- Speaking, writing, and reading English is required.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Work authorization for the location is required.
