About the Role
The Senior Commercial Contract Administration Analyst will support the Medical Devices US Sales Division by applying business management principles and financial concepts to maximize company performance and minimize risk. The role involves proactive research, analysis, and interpretation of complex data in a high-pressure sales support environment.
Responsibilities
- Owns rebate and fee administration from point of full execution to expiration, collaborating with contract authors and sales teams.
- Performs complicated calculations, obtains appropriate approvals, and ensures timely posting and delivery of payment to customers.
- Processes rebates and fees, coordinating with cross-functional groups to ensure customers are paid accurately and on-time.
- Works within audit guidelines for contract approval and contract creation.
- Builds mathematical models and tools to determine payout amounts and track contract performance.
- Provides formal and informal written and verbal updates to customers, sales, contract operations management, accounting, finance, commercial legal, and other cross-functional groups.
- Manages communication and awareness of contractual obligations with internal and external customers, including sales representatives and hospital representatives.
- Serves as a subject matter expert and primary contact for hospitals, hospital systems, and group purchasing organizations regarding rebate and admin fee questions.
- Solves complex problems, making recommendations based on analysis of multiple information sources.
- Provides reports and analysis to department and senior management as requested.
- Follows all management-approved processes and procedures and alerts management when deviations are necessary.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Finance, Business, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in finance, marketing, or a related area.
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access.
- Experience using SAP is preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities.
- Accommodating changing priorities while maintaining overall workload is essential.
- Proven financial/mathematical competence.
- Interpersonal and written/oral communications are vital.
- Strong Analytical, financial, and information systems (preferred), strategic, and problem-solving skills are required.
- Ability to assess reasonableness and relevance of contract documentation and system data.
- Ability to excel in solving multifaceted problems.
- Willingness to make difficult and unpopular decisions.
- Ability to anticipate issues and understand their implications and interrelationships.
- Knowledge of mathematical modeling and demonstrated ability to quickly identify relevant details while working with large datasets.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, deal with unresolved issues, and effectively communicate and maintain rapport with all levels of personnel within the Abbott Med Device organization.
- Customer-service oriented mind frame and skill sets to support field sales, Finance, and Accounting teams.
- Well-organized, keenly attentive to detail, and proactive to anticipate and prevent, and identify and remedy questions and issues.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills with attention to detail and ability to work with general supervision.
- Well-honed sense of urgency and ability to work under pressure, including multitasking and managing competing priorities.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products including Excel and Word.
- Experience using Business Objects or similar reporting systems.
