About the Role

The Suffolk County Attorney’s Office is seeking attorneys to manage legal matters concerning County government operations within the Family Court and Social Services Bureau. The role involves appearing in Family Court and handling complex cases related to child abuse, neglect, juvenile delinquency, and child support.

Responsibilities

  • Appear in Family Court and handle serious and complex cases involving child abuse and neglect, juvenile delinquency and/or child support cases.
  • Work collaboratively with County Attorney staff, other attorneys, Court staff and Child Protective Services in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
  • Interact with Child Protective Services, Department of Social Services including Medicaid and Child Support Enforcement Bureau as well as all counsel, families, and witnesses with kindness and professionalism.

Requirements

  • Admitted to the New York State Bar.
  • Possess experience in or background in Family or Criminal Law.

  • $80,000 to $120,000
