About the Role

Responsibilities

  • Assist with receiving shipments and unpacking materials
  • Learn to match items against packing slips and purchase orders
  • Support labeling, tagging, and storing inventory
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of receiving areas
  • Shadow experienced staff on WMS entry and documentation
  • Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
  • Perform basic warehouse duties (sorting, staging, transporting materials)
  • Complete the forklift certification

Requirements

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations
  • Stand or walk 100% of shift
  • Frequent bending, twisting, and lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted
  • Must be able to work in fast-paced environment
  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles and extreme heat
