About the Role
Milwaukee Valve Company is seeking an Entry Level Assembly Laborer to join our New Berlin, WI team. This role is responsible for operating assembly machines to produce various valves, using tools and fixtures, and occasionally handling materials and stocking components.
Responsibilities
- Operate assembly machines to produce various size and types of valves.
- Use tools and fixtures for valve production.
- Perform occasional material handling and stocking of components at the machine.
- Operate hand or bench type power tools.
- Operate air and hydro testers.
- Learn set up and tear down for job changeovers with assistance.
- Learn how to disassemble and repair product.
- Perform minor material handling and stocking.
- Use of hoist and other lifting equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness in a prescribed manner.
- Observe safety and security procedures.
- Use equipment and materials properly.
Requirements
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, routers, test reports and bill of materials.
- Ability to perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Regularly required to stand.
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch or bend.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires good manual dexterity.
- Must be able to move hands and arms freely and reach for objects above eye level.
- Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Work in a moderate to loud noise environment.
