About the Role
The Lead Bartender is responsible for providing quality food and beverage service, maintaining inventory, and executing bar activities. This role involves beverage preparation, service, inventory management, and customer interaction.
Responsibilities
- Prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages following standard recipes.
- Provides table service to patrons at the bar and in the restaurant.
- Assists students, staff, and student hires with Point of Sale (POS) procedures.
- Creates and tests new cocktails and mocktails.
- Provides advice and guidance on cocktail projects and offers constructive criticism.
- Suggests beverages to guests, servers, and students.
- Manages bar prep, side work, and inventory.
- Assists in training new bartenders.
- Follows defined storeroom and bar workflow processes.
- Receives and verifies incoming shipments against purchase orders and requisitions.
- Reports shipment discrepancies to management.
- Labels and stores received materials safely and in compliance with standards.
- Uses inventory software (EATEC) for product movement documentation.
- Conducts periodic inventory cycle counts and physical inventories.
- Prepares for and participates in audits.
- Follows cash handling procedures.
- Ensures physical security barriers are secure.
- Maintains cleanliness of warehouse and bar spaces, keeping walkways clear.
- Bartends and serves in other restaurants as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Minimum one (1) year of experience preparing cocktails, maintaining wine and liquor inventory, and cash handling in a fine dining establishment.
- Must be able to work overtime on nights and weekends as required.
- Must be able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds.
- Ability to stand and work for extended periods.
- Dexterity to maneuver in small spaces with repetitive crouching, kneeling, bending, twisting, and reaching.

- MICROS POS experience (preferred).
- TIPS Certification (preferred).
