Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and manage enterprise security systems.
- Provide technical expertise to end users for security systems including alarm monitoring, infant protection, video surveillance, access control, and emergency communications.
- Plan, design, and review security systems architecture.
- Analyze and correct complex system problems.
- Provide input for operating budgets, customer response protocols, and system technology selection.
- Develop optimal security systems architecture to support business processes and needs.
- Evaluate and test new and updated security systems.
- Integrate additions and modifications to existing system architecture.
- Manage installation, inventory, and system enhancements.
- Serve as the point of contact for product vendors.
- Develop project-specific work plans for new systems and enhancements.
- Establish and maintain business relationships with vendors, suppliers, and trade specialists.
- Provide technical leadership for the design, setup, testing, and implementation of security technology.
- Perform system audits and inventories.
- Assist the manager of security technology in designing strategic direction.
- Develop and manage systems interfaces.
- Oversee the purchase, installation, and implementation of hardware and software.
- Help manage technology purchases within budget boundaries.
- Verify that additions are standards-based.
- Manage vendors during installation, implementation, upgrades, and maintenance.
- Monitor service response to improve processes and enhance productivity.
- Lead the resolution of staff and patient concerns regarding system operations.
- Identify directions for investigation and analysis of situations.
- Perform necessary investigations and evaluations to achieve resolution.
- Initiate resolutions within department policies and to customer satisfaction.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of service level agreements.
- Manage security technology projects for construction projects.
- Participate in construction teams to assess security technology needs.
- Keep architectural drawings up-to-date for construction projects.
- Design and coordinate cable management and security closet layout.
- Work with users and contractors to provide technology provisions for healthcare equipment.
- Provide on-site decision-making during projects.
- Assist the manager in estimating costs and managing the security technology budget for construction projects.
- Enhance professional growth through education programs and workshops.
- Stay informed about advancements in the security technical arena.
- Attend appropriate security technology classes.
- Identify and address personal and professional areas for improvement.
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working with access control, video surveillance, and alarm monitoring equipment required.
- Healthcare experience desired.
