About the Role
As Editorial Director, you will shape how Critical Mass communicates its vision, work, and value to the market. You'll work across business development and marketing functions, crafting written communications for pitch narratives, case studies, thought leadership, and marketing materials. You will interface directly with senior leadership on critical messaging and strategic communications initiatives, while also representing the agency to clients and prospective partners.
Responsibilities
- Own, build, and maintain the case study library.
- Write persuasive responses to RFI/RFPs and pitch presentations.
- Manage thought leadership and editorial content for marketing purposes.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines with strong organizational skills.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure messaging is aligned and compelling.
- Copyedit and proofread a range of materials, maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and brand voice.
- Lead and mentor junior editors and marketing communications professionals.
- Present ideas confidently to senior leadership and clients.
- Uphold agency values of being honest, inspired, driven, passionate, and real.
Requirements
- 8+ years of copy editing and writing experience within business development and/or marketing.
- At least 2 years in a director-level role.
- Exceptional understanding of how copy and narrative can influence new business and marketing.
- Experience communicating with C-suite executives and clients at senior levels.
- Demonstrated experience managing and developing team members.
- Proven aptitude for quick thinking with acute attention to detail within demanding deadlines.
- Keen enthusiasm for understanding trends and technologies.
- Effective and creative problem-solving skills.
