About the Role
Responsible for the safety of Guests in water up to four (4) feet deep at Universal Kids Resort’s onsite hotel pool. This role involves surveillance to ensure guest safety and delivering exemplary service to create a safe, welcoming, and playful environment for families and children.
Responsibilities
- Ensures proper use of safety practices and procedures for Guests within the onsite hotel pool and pool areas.
- Monitors guests following Lifeguard Certification Program standards.
- Demonstrates professional adherence to all pool and Universal safety standards.
- Manages opening and closing procedures of pool operations and shares safety instructions.
- Assists Guests with special loading access into the pool.
- Maintains ability to recognize, respond to, and extract an individual in distress.
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment by constantly monitoring the immediate area and surroundings.
- Ensures a neat and organized work area, trash removal, and keeping the area free of debris.
- Ensures proper maintenance of equipment and pool area.
- Performs daily safety checks of the pool area for potential hazards.
- Adheres to all safety procedures, including adverse weather conditions.
- Maintains all certifications and training required by the American Red Cross certification program.
- Actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UDX policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must be comfortable in and around water for the entire shift.
- Ability to make quick decisions, recognize, respond to, and extract an individual in distress.
- Must be able to complete the required swim test.
- Must be able to distinguish hand signals at a distance of up to 50 feet.

- Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
