About the Role

Stinson LLP is seeking an Associate to join our Energy, Environmental, Mining and Transportation Division. The Associate will primarily work with attorneys in the Renewable Energy group, engaging in a wide range of renewable energy work including project development, commercial, financing, and transactional practice areas.

Responsibilities

  • Work with attorneys in the Renewable Energy group.
  • Engage in project development, commercial, financing, and transactional practice areas within renewable energy.
  • Negotiate, draft, and close commercial agreements.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice in or eligible for admission without examination in California.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Strong writing, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Provide a cover letter, resume, law school transcript and writing sample when applying.

Skills

  • Renewable or conventional energy transactions.
  • Comparable transactional experience in mergers and acquisitions, financing, real estate, and/or project development.
  • Negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Drafting commercial agreements.
  • Closing commercial agreements.
  • Familiarity with tax credit matters, including investment tax credits (ITCs) or production tax credits (PTCs) is a plus.
