About the Role

Moody Nolan is seeking a licensed architect with 15+ years of experience to lead design and delivery processes, manage project coordination, and resolve complex technical and design issues. The role involves directing the production of drawings and specifications, overseeing construction administration, and managing client relationships and expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design and delivery process leadership to the full design team and the client team.
  • Manage multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with consultants.
  • Resolve complex technical and design issues with the team to produce innovative technical/constructable solutions.
  • Direct production of drawings, specifications, and construction administration tasks.
  • Be responsible for oversight and delivery of documents with design intent and top-notch technical quality.
  • Facilitate the process for submittals/substitution requests during construction and address RFIs.
  • Interface with building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of the project.
  • Coordinate client billing and follow up with the client on collection.
  • Manage client expectations, team communication, and oversight of consultant coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture (required).
  • Master's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Architecture, or related field (preferred).
  • Licensed Architect with 15 plus years of professional experience in Architecture.
  • Experience working with the New York School Construction Authority.
  • Experience in new building experience and Construction Administration.
  • Knowledge of building codes, zoning, jurisdictional processes, building materials, specifications, and construction techniques.
  • Experience in construction document preparation and field observation.
  • Must be proficient in REVIT with the ability to utilize it frequently (required).
  • Experienced in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and other 3D modeling software.
  • Flexibility to focus on concurrent projects in various stages of development.
  • Excellent written + verbal communication and client relationship management skills.
