About the Role
Purchase goods and services to ensure operational needs are met, considering price, quality, and schedule, while ensuring continuity of supply. The role focuses on achieving value for money, managing suppliers, and improving quality, cost, and delivery using Ultra KPIs and the IFS MRP system.
Responsibilities
- Purchase goods and services in line with specified cost, quality, and delivery targets.
- Ensure MRP data is accurate, maintaining accurate part and supplier MRP data including lead-times, cost, and supplier evaluations.
- Check internal Purchase Requisitions for completeness, accuracy, supply chain compliance, and authorization.
- Clarify specifications, quantities, and timelines with stakeholders.
- Ensure continuous supply of required material and communicate any supply problems that may pose a risk or impact business operations.
- Manage supplier order books and effectively expedite and prioritize orders to ensure Goods/Services are available to the manufacturing team at the right time.
- Research and evaluate areas of opportunity and reduce costs.
- Liaise with Stakeholders to ensure product and service quality levels are maximized.
- Ensure on-time-in-full delivery of materials and services to support project milestones.
- Monitor market trends and market suppliers.
- Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.
- Identify appropriate sources of supply to meet contract needs.
- Manage new supplier requests and approval.
- Ensure contract conditions are applied, including specific flow downs where appropriate.
- Assist in developing ideas and strategies to improve operational efficiency, add value, aid business performance, and work towards a strategy of continuous improvement.
- Support procurement department objectives and KPIs and be instrumental in supporting their achievement.
- Support the timely return of any defective material deliveries to respective vendors and procure replacement materials in accordance with company procedures and processes whilst minimizing any impact on project milestones.

Requirements
- Experience of procurement in a regulated environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with personnel at all levels of the organization.
- Working knowledge of ERP and MRP systems (such as IFS).
- Strong analytical skills - proficient in Excel and reporting software.
- A high level of self-motivation and able to work on own initiative.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- PC literate in MS office suite.
- Eligible to obtain UK security clearance to SC level.
- Undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard Check (BPSS) as a minimum.
- Some roles will require further national security vetting checks.
- Provide evidence of identity, eligibility to work in the UK and employment and/or education history for up to three years.
- Some vacancies may require full Security Clearance which can require further evidence to be provided.
