About the Role
St. Peter's Hospital is seeking a CT Technologist II to perform all CT procedures in accordance with department standards. This full-time position offers a strong orientation program, generous tuition allowance, and career development opportunities within a Magnet Hospital recognized as a leader in the Capital Region.
Responsibilities
- Obtains and records a complete clinical history pertinent to the examination requested.
- Evaluates requests for appropriateness and refers concerns to the coordinator and/or radiologist.
- Instructs patients regarding the nature of the exam being performed.
- Effectively communicates information regarding post-procedure care.
- Ensures proper radiation protection measures are taken to provide an ALARA environment for patients, co-workers, and self.
- Understands the ALARA program and actively participates in the dosimetry program.
- Completes all required documentation related to patient care, imaging procedures, and RIS requirements.
- Demonstrates proper use of positioning devices and other equipment for safe, accurate, and complete exams.
- Assists in the instruction of new personnel.
Requirements
- AAS Degree in Radiologic Technology
- Minimum of 2 years' experience as a CT Technologist
- Current ARRT registration
- NYS license required
- Certification to Inject
- Experience on Siemens equipment preferred
