About the Role
The Sr. Analyst, Supply Chain optimizes Rakuten Kobo's global supply chain operations, impacting the delivery of a seamless reading experience. This role ensures efficient procurement, order fulfillment, and reverse logistics for eReader products and accessories. The individual will process and manage orders, track statuses, handle reverse logistics, identify and resolve discrepancies, anticipate stock issues, and collaborate on process optimizations.
Responsibilities
- Own day-to-day communication with Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) partners.
- Coordinate with multiple vendors to negotiate and align delivery schedules.
- Place purchase orders (POs) with vendors, adhering to established timelines and specifications.
- Ensure aligned delivery schedules are met and proactively communicate potential delays or issues.
- Lead vendor onboarding processes.
- Evaluate vendor performance to monitor on-time and in-full services.
- Implement procurement strategies to drive cost efficiencies and quality improvements.
- Validate invoices and resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal finance teams.
- Conduct analysis of demand forecasts, ODM capacity, and supply plans to identify imbalances, risks, and opportunities.
- Analyze inventory levels and sales data to identify and communicate potential stock issues.
- Track Non-Recurring Engineering (NRE) costs on a per-project basis and provide trend analysis.
- Build and maintain supply chain models and reports using advanced Excel skills.
- Communicate delivery schedules with internal and external customers.
- Receive, validate, and process return requests efficiently and accurately.
- Manage discrepancies with 3PL return facilities, identify root causes, and provide corrective actions.
- Review and ensure all return order statuses are correct and up-to-date.
- Proactively identify areas of improvement and process optimization opportunities.
- Maintain and update all process documentation.
- Identify and investigate discrepancies during the month-end process.
- Direct requests and unresolved issues to designated resources.
- Perform other duties, including special projects as assigned.
Requirements
- 3-5 years of progressive supply chain experience within the tech/consumer electronics (e.g., eReader, mobile, IoT) or CPG sectors.
- Mandatory previous experience with enterprise-level ERP system(s) (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end supply chain functions, including demand planning, procurement, order fulfillment, and reverse logistics.
- Basic understanding of the product life cycle, with hands-on experience supporting new product and project launches.
