About the Role
Zoom Chat is seeking a Senior Product Manager to lead the core messaging experience, focusing on evolving direct messages and channels to be simpler, more intuitive, and the foundation for asynchronous work. You will collaborate with Design, Engineering, and Data Science to integrate AI-powered and well-designed features into daily messaging, influencing how millions communicate at work.
Responsibilities
- Owning the core messaging experience end-to-end, including strategy, requirements, design, delivery, and iteration.
- Defining and driving the roadmap to enhance core chat interaction patterns.
- Closing experience gaps identified through competitor and user research.
- Partnering with Design on interaction details, information structure, and visual polish, providing direct feedback on design work.
- Identifying and scoping opportunities to embed AI-powered capabilities into core messaging workflows.
- Translating customer, support, and research signals into clear product requirements and prioritized roadmap decisions.
- Collaborating with Engineering, Design, and Research to scope, sequence, and deliver features on schedule.
- Communicating roadmap, tradeoffs, and progress to stakeholders across product, engineering, and go-to-market teams.
- Supporting a consistent experience across desktop, mobile, and web clients.
Requirements
- 5 to 8 years of PM experience with end-to-end product ownership.
- Direct experience shipping AI-powered product features.
- Extensive product and UI/UX sense, with the ability to collaborate closely with Design on interaction details.
- Experience in messaging, collaboration, or communication products.
- Track record of using research to identify and close experience gaps.
- Comfortable with a flexible schedule for global team collaboration, including early morning or evening meetings.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of framing tradeoffs for various audiences.
- Proficiency with standard PM tooling for roadmapping, specs, and prioritization.
