About the Role
Serve as the primary point of contact for patient excellence and customer service on a nursing unit, ensuring a compassionate and organized environment. This role involves coordinating appointments, performing clerical duties, and managing visitor interactions to facilitate the smooth flow of patient information.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients and family members, offering a compassionate presence and clear direction.
- Coordinate appointments and perform general clerical duties at the unit nursing station.
- Ensure timely, efficient, and accurate flow of patient information.
- Welcome and direct visitors and hospital colleagues to appropriate areas.
- Page nurses and answer phones on the unit.
- Sign for important medical deliveries.
- Maintain a courteous and respectful demeanor while multitasking.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalency.
- Minimum of one-year previous clerical experience.
- Knowledge of computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and courteously with staff, patients, and visitors.
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP.
