About the Role

Delivers exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects by identifying needs and providing advice on financial solutions. Works collaboratively to achieve business objectives and enhance the customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with existing customers and prospects by providing needs-based assessments to grow loyalty and identify opportunities.
  • Identify financial solutions and preferred banking channels, recommending tailored solutions for sales and service needs.
  • Offer advice and guidance on digital and self-serve options to simplify banking.
  • Support customer transaction needs based on traffic.
  • Engage customers to grow BMO’s business by generating appointments and building community relationships.
  • Address questions and resolve issues related to consumer credit audits and quality checks.
  • Apply the risk management framework to protect the Bank's assets and maintain lending portfolio quality.
  • Make credit recommendations for personal lending transactions, including home financing.
  • Collaborate as a key member of the branch and market team.
  • Probe to understand customer needs and integrate marketing promotions into conversations.
  • Organize work information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Find creative approaches to make each customer’s experience personal.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the overall customer experience.
  • Contribute to business results and the overall experience delivered.
  • Follow through on risk and compliance processes and policies.
  • Keep current with the financial services marketplace, legal and regulatory environment, and ethical requirements.
  • Maintain current knowledge of personal banking products, practices, and trends.
  • Identify and report suspicious patterns of activity related to money laundering.
  • Comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Protect the Bank's assets in compliance with all regulatory, legal, and ethical requirements.
  • Complete complex and diverse tasks within given rules/limits, including handling escalations.
  • Analyze issues and determine next steps.
  • Take measured risks while protecting the bank by applying the Risk Management Framework.

Requirements

  • Typically between 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Post-secondary degree in a related field of study desirable or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registration to sell investment products completed (Canada only, as appropriate for the jurisdiction).
  • Appropriate lending qualifications and designations.
  • Working knowledge of personal and small business customer needs and solutions.
  • Working knowledge of retail investments and lending products.
  • Experience in financial services is an asset.
  • Confident and experienced in the use of social media, tablets, smartphones, online tools, and applications.
  • Experience in a consultative customer service or sales role, with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience.
